A Center for Environmental Exploration

Discover the wonders of nature at the EcoTarium, a unique indoor/outdoor museum experience. Set in an urban oasis in the city of Worcester, the EcoTarium also provides permanent homes to wildlife that cannot be released.

Here you can walk through the treetops to see the forest from a new perspective. Learn about the night sky through astronomy programs. Peer at the tiniest creatures through powerful microscopes.

You’ll learn to interpret the landscape as you stroll along a pond or through the woods. Meet the living creatures of New England’s forests and tidepools and wetlands. Find out what you can do to protect our natural resources.

On a visit to the EcoTarium, you’ll find many ways to connect with the natural world through exhibits, wildlife, an extensive natural history collection, a planetarium, a Tree Canopy Walkway, interpretive nature trails, an award-winning meadow landscape and excursions around the grounds on the Explorer Express train.

The museum offers special exhibitions throughout the year as well as daily programs and seasonal events. Highlights include behindthe- scenes wildlife care programs, the Jazz at Sunset summer concert series, and guided miniexpeditions through the tree canopy. Stop into the Museum Store for environmentally minded gifts, educational toys and more.
